N E W S E R I E S: I call it “songwriting.” Haha. I am picking out songs (receiving requests), listening to them as background music for inspiration, then taking a pen to paper to put together a poem based on the song. Excited to share this with all of you. Enjoy.
S O N G: Robin Hood by Anson Seabra
most people don’t actually see me but i’m beginning to think you aren’t one of them perhaps i should start trying that thing people call “opening up” most say it hurts most say it’s worth it
i’m not quite sure i’ll listen to the voices they tend to lead me elsewhere away from my small paved path
i take back roads with speed limits reading five to ten miles and hours and moments spent kind of lost but not completely there’s still vision and purpose a sense of intentional wandering seeking souls peeking through shadows of painful pasts and sweet memories
i just might listen to those voices i just might let you stay and see
